Dance Party

Every year we like to celebrate the end of the school with a Dance Party.

To celebrate take one day and during specials we gather the entire grade
level in the gym, turn off the lights and jam out with glow lights!
We do all-dances, competitions and this year we tried doing
Jam-Circles so that individual students could showcase their skills.
It was a BLAST! What a fun way to celebrate a FANTASTIC year at TTE!
Below is a collage of some of fun moments!

Field Day 2015

Friday, May 15 was our 2015 Field Day
It was both Sunny and Soggy, but it was an awesome Field Day!

Thursday, May 14 Mrs. Berndt, Mrs. Johnston and I got permission to use sidewalk chalk to leave a fun Field Day message for TTE students on the Golf Course Spillway. Unfortunately the rain the evening before washed our message away. Luckily we took a photo so that I could post it here.

During WOLF Time, fourth graders helped design and name some of our stations.  Some of their ideas were modified to service the entire school. Lead  and organized by Mr. Newman and Mrs. Johnston, all Timber Trail Students participated in fun and challenging activities that are challenging and build community. I was not able to get to every station for pictures, but below are a few fun pictures the fantastic events I was able to experience.

Tug of War

 Marble Mining

Community Chalk Art
(my personal favorite station...for obvious reasons)

 Jump Ropes and Hoops

Para-Crew Parachutes

 Rest and Recovery with Popsicles

Puzzle Relay

 Potato Sack Races

Timber Trails

TTE Ninja Warrior Challenge (Obstacle Course)

5th Grade Step Dancers!

Fifth grade students worked extremely  hard all year on their dance. They chose Stepping, or Step Dancing as their style this year.

Yesterday was Variety Show Day! That means the 5th grade finally performed the dance that they have been working on all year! This year they chose Stepping (or Street Step Dancing) as their theme.  This years group accomplished many "firsts." They were the first group to dance without a soundtrack.  The were also the first to create their own music using body percussion. They were the first to  create  a dance that was 100% student choreographed. As you can tell by the photo. The are the first group to design and create a backdrop for their performance. They chose a graffiti theme, since Stepping is primarily a street dance. Below is a link to the final dress rehearsal video.

Students also brought in cool items like hats, t-shirts, shoes, bags...etc... to decorate using special fabric markers.  Below are some photos of them hard at work.
