Last Week to See Blooms, Tokens and Muses at the Highlands Ranch Library!

There is only one more week left for my month long art show Blooms, Tokens and Muses at the Highlands Ranch Library.  I take it down on Sept. 30.  If you haven't had a chance to the check it out...do so before it's gone!!!!

Blooms, Tokens and Muses - My First Solo Art Show!

I believe that an art teacher should constantly be creating and challenging themselves in their own artistic endeavors. I would be doing my students an injustice if I did not continue to challenge myself through skill development and continuing to create and explore my own ideas. I create my own artwork as often as possible. I work primarily in Oils and Acrylics, although I do enjoy Watercolors and Pen and Ink occasionally.

I have had several pieces of my work in many different shows that included other artists. While it is quite an honor to have a piece selected for a juried art show, it quite something else to have a show where only your work is displayed. I have finally landed my first solo art show!!

If you are in the area want to see some of my art, visit the Highlands Ranch branch of the Douglas County Libraries.  I am having my first solo art show!  There are 44 pieces created by yours truly. If you enjoy my work, drop me a comment or an email and tell me all about it!  I welcome commissions.

Castle Rock ArtFest

Our first art show came as an early surprise this year! Timber Trail was asked to participate in this years Colorado Artfest at Castle Rock!  Unfortunately this event takes place before everyone has had the chance to visit the art room. In order for TTE to participate to participate some students brought artwork made at home as well as some from last year for the show.  Mrs. Onken's class worked together to create a beautiful cooperative butterfly piece.

Artfest is 12th and 13th and is located in Downtown Historic Castle Rock.  Event hours are on Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

It is my understanding that there will be an awards ceremony on Sunday the 13th at 11:30am.  There will be ribbons an prizes.  Although I will not be able to be there, I am sure it will be a fun experience!! The Outlet Mall of Castle Rock will be hosting Milk and Cookies for students.
