The Making of a Time Machine

The students decided they wanted the time machine to be the DeLorean from the movie "Back to the Future."  It took a few weeks, but I think I nailed it! Our music teacher helped by adding a light up Flux Capacitor and lights that change color with the sound effects of our show.

5th Grade Step Dancers!

Fifth grade students worked extremely  hard all year on their dance. They chose Stepping, or Step Dancing as their style this year.

Yesterday was Variety Show Day! That means the 5th grade finally performed the dance that they have been working on all year! This year they chose Stepping (or Street Step Dancing) as their theme.  This years group accomplished many "firsts." They were the first group to dance without a soundtrack.  The were also the first to create their own music using body percussion. They were the first to  create  a dance that was 100% student choreographed. As you can tell by the photo. The are the first group to design and create a backdrop for their performance. They chose a graffiti theme, since Stepping is primarily a street dance. Below is a link to the final dress rehearsal video.
