Summer Fun!

Summer is over!!  It went by too fast! I hope you had a great break and are ready to learn! Below are some pictures of how I spent my summer.

I spent a lot of time painting.  I like to paint in oils during the summer. Below are a few pictures of me working on some summertime paintings.  

 

I also love hiking. Spent some fun times hiking around the Denver Metro area with different friends.  

One great thing about living in Colorado is that people love to visit.  It's always great to have out of state friends come to visit. 

BASE Camp Art Club is always fun.  I teach a couple of classes during the summer for the BASE Camp kiddos.  We painted fun ceramic figures and created  cool canvas paintings. 

Celebrating with family is always fun.  You didn't know that I was related to Santa, did you?

My friend from art school was in the Cherry Creek Art Festival for the third year in a row! He is a fantastic artist.  I had so much fun hanging out with him at the festival. 

Pool-time with the niece and nephew is always a fun way to spend the hot summer days!

Every summer I teach two classes at the Rocky Heights S.OA.R. Program.  Below are some pics of creations from both the Wearable Art and Canvas and Creativity Classes. The first pic of a pair of new "Art Teacher" shoes I created, the others are all talented student creations.

S.O.A.R. Program at Rocky Heights Middle School


During the summer I enjoy spending time up at Rocky Heights Middle School teaching art in their S.O.A.R. program.  The S.O.A.R. program is a summer enrichment program open to DougCo students 4th -8th grade.  I teach two classes.  Below are pictures from my Canvas and Creativity Painting Class. We were  a full class! Each student was encouraged to express themselves by working on paintings of subject matter of their own choosing. Below are pictures of some of their masterpieces.
