SOAR at Rocky Heights

Canvas and Creativity Painting Course

Back by popular demand!  Are you ready to crack open a new world of creativity, relaxation, and fun?  Canvas and 
Creativity is a fun way to approach painting and learn new skills.  Just follow step-by-step instructions or use your 
own ideas to complete your own masterpiece!  Every masterpiece is as unique as the painter.  You will be working 
with acrylic paint in canvas.  Don't wear your favorite clothes...acrylic paint does not wash out!  
Daily supplies needed: dress appropriately for working with acrylic paint
Additional Fee for materials: $20

Turn ordinary items into extraordinary works of art.  Embark on a wonderful adventure and transform your canvas shoes, 
t-shirts, hats, backpacks, etc…  Students will be working with special fabric dye markers and acrylic paints. 
These do NOT wash out of clothes, so don’t wear your favorites.  One canvas hat will be provided for this course.  
All other items (shoes, shirts, etc, ...) need to be provided by student. 
Daily supplies needed: items you want to artify need to be made of fabric like cotton or canvas, 
  dress appropriately for working with paint and markers
Additional Fee for materials: $15

TTE Art Show Winners!

Timber Trail Elementary had three award winning artists at this years annual DCSD Art Show. 

Awards are given by region. since Timber Trail feeds into Rock Canyon,  a Highlands Ranch high school - we are part of the Highlands Ranch Region. 

Awards are given in two age categories - Primary (Kindergarten through 3rd) and Intermediate (4th through 6th)

Awards are given to in two media categories - 2-D and 3-D


Fourth grader Bryn Petersen won First Place for the Intermediate 
2-D category with her cool Op-Art Drawing.

Fifth grader Gavin Neira won First Place for the Intermediate 
3-D category with his Stone Carving Elephant.

 Third grader Ellie Sloan won Third Place for the Primary 
3-D category with her Dia de los Muertos Sugar Skull tribute to her cat Ferb.
