Wonder
Have you ever read the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio? It's a fantastic book about what makes us special. Third grader created their own self portraits in the style of the books cover art and then filled the back ground with pattern created by descriptive words that make each of them a wonder! Below are a few of their creations.

Keith Haring Dancers
First grade artists studied the work of Keith Haring in order to create their own dancing figures. They used a crayon resist starburst in the background and then took inspiration form Keith Haring on how to draw their figures. Below are a few of their creations.

Do You Speak Sign Language?
Do you speak sign language? Fourth graders studied sign language and then create words by drawing their hands formed into the shape of letters. Many gave "hints" as to what the word is in the background. When they were finished they created a single sign language letter out of clay. Use the sign language key to read these fantastic fourth grade artworks!!!

Owls in the Art Room!
Second grade artists created these fantastic mixed media owl collages. They used colored paper, markers, paint, glue and 3D-ohs. I love how each owl has it's own personality!
