Spring Break Art

What did you do during Spring Break (besides playing in all the snow after he blizzard)? I had the pleasure of spending some time creating with a couple of our very talented TTE fifth grade artists! We spent and afternoon painting some fun and whimsical birds! Below is a picture of our creations!

Keith Haring Cooperative Art

Do you know who Keith Haring is? Ask a first grader, they know!!

In art class, first graders learned about this graffiti artist turned professional artist.

Part of our learning included this video about Keith Haring.

It tells about his life as well as shows many pictures of his art works.

They then worked in groups to collaborate to create life-sized Keith Haring inspired works. Students had to make decision together and trace one of their group in order to create their works. Below are some pictures of their process and final creations! Come and check out the halls of TTE to see these life-sized colorful works in person!

Art Show Weekend

What a fabulous Art Show Weekend! The Lone Tree Art Center is such a special place to have our big district-wide Art Show! I spent quite a bit of time there this past weekend volunteering as a greeter/host Friday evening, and then have 2 receptions for my students on Saturday! I spent a lot of time at the Lone Tree Arts Center this weekend and met a new friend - one of the House Managers. He was so helpful when I had questions or needed help.

DCSD Annual Art Show

DCSD Art Show

The DCSD Art Show is here!

The show is at the Lone Tree Arts Center again this year. It will be up from March 9 through the 14th. I will be there Saturady, March 12 from 12-1:30 and again from 5-6. However, the shows hours are below and you are welcome to visit any time during those hours.
Wednesday, March 9 - 10am-7pm
Thursday, March 10 - 10am-8pm
Friday, March 11 - 10am-7pm
Saturday, March 12 - 12pm-8pm (I will be there from 12-1:30, and again from 5-6)
Sunday, March 13 - CLOSED
Monday, March 14- 10am-3pm
